You’ve heard of Costa Rican coffee, but did you know that cacao is also grown here? The cacao bean is native to the Americas, and is what our favorite sweet snack, chocolate, derives from! Head to a nearby cacao plantation to learn how the entire process of chocolate production. See the different stages of the cacao bean, from pod to pulp to bean. And, of course, end your cultural experience with some freshly made chocolate!
