Scott Speck

CEO, Managing Partner

I am from Bryan/College Station Texas – a booming market 100 miles north of Houston. I have lived all over the Great State of Texas – from Bryan/College Station to Huntsville, Kerrville, Dallas, Austin, New Braunfels and few places in between. I graduated from Sam Houston State University and also attended Schreiner University. My first career was in the public sector but I have been in sales for almost thirty years. I was a mortgage banker for seven years and even owned a restaurant once. The common denominator has always been the relationships that I have built. My clients trust that I am always watching out for their best interest. I never thought I would leave Texas but Costa Rica drew me in. A year and a half after I discovered this beautiful country I sold everything I owned and moved to the Central Pacific Coast to start a new business. My brother and I started Vacation Pura Vida which focuses on Property Management and Vacation Planning. I look forward to showing you my Costa Rica and helping you find Your Pura Vida!

Jeff Speck

COO, Managing Partner

Jeff Speck Originally from Bryan/College Station, Texas, I settled in the Houston area in 1992. I spent my early years in the Eighties chasing the oil rigs in the Texas oil boom but then began working in the residential construction field and later transitioned to commercial construction. But in 1992 I changed careers and began working in the marine transportation industry. I worked my way up to tug boat captain and eventually became a port engineer responsible for the maintenance of a large fleet of boats and barges. These experiences have given me a keen eye for construction procedures, techniques and inspection guidelines that I use to ensure your property is the quality you expect. My love of the water and fishing eventually brought me to Costa Rica where I got to finally experience the world class fishing that our area offers. From the first time I visited I knew I had to live here. Eventually, my brother and I moved here and started Vacation Pura Vida.

Jazmin Martinez

Operations Manager, Partner

Born in Perez Zeledon, Costa Rica, I moved to the Bejuco/Esterillos area in 2015 and have called it home since then. I worked in hospitality at a local beachfront hotel and got to know the infamous Speck Brothers when they arrived. I watched as their business grew and in 2021 I joined the team and in 2025 became a partner. We are proud of what we have built and the service level we offer to owners and guests.
